Parkour and my 21st

I tried something new on Saturday: a 'sport' called parkour. Basically the point is to move efficiently and effectively from place to place, and walls and railings and such cease to become obstacles. There's a lot of jumping and climbing and running, it's wicked fun. This is a really great introduction. I wasn't doing all that of course, or any of the philosophy, just some simple running, jumping, climbing. There's a free coaching session on Saturdays, with this guy, called Zeno. This run is through Glasgow Uni, so you also get a view of where I spend my days. Wicked fun, but damn am I sore!

And today was my birthday! In Gwun, my flatmate, threw me a party. Outstanding. Maria and I made cake yesterday, so we had carrot cake, he there was veggies and chips and dip and sweets, wine, beer, and juice. And good people. It was really very nice, a perfect way to start finals weeks.

  1. Happy Birthday, Jameson! Sorry it's a little late, I didn't see a computer long enough yesterday to write anything! Glad to hear you had a good celebration!

  2. WhooHoo! Thank you to In Gwun, please. The birthday spread looked loverly. Sorry we couldn't be there. BTW, does "LOL" have a different meaning than "laugh out loud" that I don't know about? Thought it was pretty harmless....

  3. just watched the Parkour videos...I can see how you'd like the concept. The "thinking outside the box" lifestyle.

  4. You're fine on meaning, it's just weird seeing your parents using teenage slang.
